Welcome to the 200-hr Karma Yoga Vinyasa Teacher Training Program!
The transformation of self through yoga is an ancient and studied tradition, but as pertinent today as it was in its inception.
In this 6-month training program, you will be embracing the practice deeply and with a loving spirit, and learn to experience that deep “Vital Energy” which will sustain all of your actions, on and off the mat.
The real goal of our yoga teacher training program is ...
...
to awaken within our students the deeper purpose in their lives, and to transform their spirit and body into their true, authentic self.
"Your work is to discover your work and then, with your whole self, to give yourself to it."– the Buddha
> Through a vigorous Vinyasa (Flow) style that will challenge, strenghten, and purify both body and mind,
> Through the revitalizing practice of pranayama that will lift and enlighten the spirit,
> And through a steadfast commitment to the philosophy expressed by a karma yoga practice*,
... the graduates of the Karma Yoga Vinyasa Teacher Training Program will uncover and achieve within themselves truths that were not known, or previously possible.
As part of the Karma Yoga Vinyasa Teacher Training Program, you will enter the higher realms that exist in both your body and heart, while learning how to adeptly steward your future students onto theirs.

Overview The Teacher Training Program is open to all students who wish to deepen their practice and understanding of yoga.
The training will be based on an invigorating Vinyasa (Flow) style, as taught by our Senior Yoga Teacher Jenn Pici, and additional in-depth studies of pranayama, the history and philosophy of yoga, and the practice of karma yoga.
1. Asana and Anatomy in Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa (Flow) is a dynamic form of yoga that links the breath with the transitions of the body into postures, or asanas. It is the joyful movement of our physical selves and provides the foundation for a thorough exploration of the body-mind connection.
The fundamental postures of the practice are studied in detail and in an experiential format allowing for optimal understanding of alignment. Skillful adjustments are explored as well as the integration of props and adaptations of postures for individualized instruction.
The student will also delve into anatomy and muscular physiology, that his or her instruction be safe and in accord with contemporary knowledge of the body.
2. *Karma Yoga Practice: Union through Selfless Action
The philosophical foundation of this program is that of karma yoga, a Sanskrit phrase that literally translates to the path of union through selfless action. The training program will actively incorporate these principles by involving community outreach as an essential component to the completion of the training. Students will find fulfillment in their own practice on the mat only through their selfless “practice” in the community.
A student can either choose an organization in which he or she is already an active member or can work together with other students in a suggested local organization. This will also facilitate leadership and team building skills which prove mighty in and out of class.
"The beauty and charm of selfless love and service should not die away from the face of the earth. The world should know that a life of dedication is possible, that a life inspired by love and service to humanity is possible...Our compassion and acts of selflessness take us to the deeper truths. Through selfless action we can eradicate the ego that conceals the Self. Detached, selfless action leads to liberation. Such action is not just work; it is karma yoga." Mata Amritanamdamayi, a.k.a. Amma, The Hugging Saint
